too much dependence on technology is not good

Monitoring technology at times is important
Everybody speaks so good about technology. Our life has been so much interwined with technology. Technology has entered into our life so intimately that we depend entirely on technology. So, I feel that too much dependence on technology is not good.
In the school education, the children do not spend much time actually learning what the teachers are teaching laboriously. WHy? Because, they can get everything from the internet when they reach home. Just before the examination, the children browse the net and get ready for the test. They also share their assignments online. They also seek the help of online tutors and they do not learn seriously.
In the name of education, the children also use these electronic gadgets in other ways. The meaning of hardwork has been wiped out by technology. For example if the child wants to know the meaning of some difficult world, they just google it. In fact there is very little interaction with the teacher now a days as the children depend tooo much on the computer. The concept of teacher student relation has totally changed. So, is this a really good change?
Well, so technology is very good and helpful but at the same time we should watch how the technology is used. If it is becoming a problem better be selective in using technology. We are the masters of the technology and not the slaves of technology.

Ipod, I pad and Mp4,3 devices' usage

Ipad from where we can read books comfortably
The teaching style has changed a lot even in few years. When I was in school, technology was there but we were not very friendly with the technology. I remember there were lectures by the teacher and if someone missed one class of teacher's lecture, there is no way the teacher can produce the same lecture once more.
Today, in this year of Ipods, Mp3 and Mp4s, the teachers can send his or her lecture in these gadgets and the students can listen to the lecture whether in bus, or cafe or home.
Just for example: even in my educatioinal technology, no matter whether the professor was there personally or not, we never miss lectures because lectures were already posted in elearning. The lectures can be downloaded and listened to many times till you understand everything said in the lecture.
Now with the Ipad or what we call notebook, there is no need to carry thick novels in our hand. We can download the whole series of thick novels in Ipad and read comfortably.
So, these are some of the ways technology help in the field of school education. There are other stories of how technology has helped other fields of education.

Technology comes to rescue

Various assistive technology to cope the need of the needy students
There was a time when there were no technology and as such the life as we look from here, was terribly hard. And no body had ever dreamt that there would be a world like this. But now with the development of science, so many technology has come into this world. Technology has done wonders in the world and has made the live of people very easy. The only thing you have to do is press some buttons.
Technology is the usage and knowledge of tools, techniques, crafts, systems or methods of organization. The word technology comes from the Greek These technologies have made lots of difference in every sphere of our life. And out of all these, technology has played a very important role in the field of educating children. With the help of technology, there were computers, assistive technology, softwares and the list goes on. Before the technology came into being, educating children with special needs was very difficult. A child who has a hearing problem do not have a chance to study in a school, a child who can not see like wise do not have the chance to study in school. But now with the help of various educational technologies and softwares, all the children with various physical problems can study comfortably in schools. And thats a very wonderful contribution of technology in educating children in schools.
Now a days, with the development of technology, there is virtual calssrooms. The students can learn everything without the presence of teachers actually. The whole world has been brought before the children through computer. The method of teaching and learning we have been given is totally different ffrom the present one. And I wonder how many more changes will take place in future too.

Educational Technology Class by Dr. Zeitz

My first day in Dr. Zeitz was some kind of excitement as what the course would actually deal with. But as he and his colleagues started unfolding the courses in details one by one, I thought that it was some useful stuff for me. And since then, I have been anxiously looking for some new educational technology.
As the days pass by, I realized that it was really a good topic fully related to my profession.Although I am quite poor when it comes to the use of technology, but with the help of the professor and my classmate, it is going on pretty well. Every lab period was kind of fun and every day there is a new lesson or topic. I came in contact with so many websites and programs I will be using when I am back in my school. I am sure my students will like it very much. Long live technology.
